Siyahamba Sonke Construction, established in 2008, evolved from an entity, Tom Petersen Projects CC, who had been active in the construction sector for more than
20 years. Having worked together on numerous projects with Tom Petersen as partners and service providers, Redwaan Rashied (Zahzee Property Consultants CC) and Amien Dawood (property developer) pooled resources to establish Siyahamba Sonke Construction to provide pre-construction management, general construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, valuations and project management services. The extensive experience of the Shareholders/ Executive Directors enables Siyahamba Sonke to deliver efficiently, cost effectively, and to the required quality parameters, from low-cost affordable housing to high-end prestige residential and commercial property developments.
Our track record over the years bears testimony to unwavering integrity and professionalism. At the heart of our business is our philosophy of caring. We care about our employees, our service providers, the environment, and, above all, we care about you, our client. We care about the fact that your investment with us, be that through a residential or commercial property that we are building for you, or a joint-venture in a project, is important and that what you want is peace of mind, knowing that you are in good hands. Our clients and business partners have come to rely on us for consistent quality and professional service. You can rely on us too.
TO PLAY A MEANINGFUL ROLE IN THE CONSTRUCTION, CIVIL ENGINEERING AND CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT SECTORS.
To maintain and enhance our reputation of conducting business honestly, with integrity, and without compromise to our core values. To provide a service to our clients that meets contractual obligations and exceed expectations. To produce a product that exceeds accepted quality parameters at exceptional value. To create and sustain meaningful and stable employment for our employees with emphasis on opportunities for skills development, personal growth and career advancement. To build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our service providers.
Coming from a previously disadvantaged background, we are acutely aware of our role in uplifting our communities through sustainable job opportunities, collaboration with local service providers and investment in social upliftment projects. We actively engage with communities to establish contractor, labour and supplier databases with the aim of empowering local people and businesses.
We continually strive to create and sustain meaningful, stable and empowering employment opportunities. We do not subscribe to the dehumanising and oppressive practice of labour broking, preferring rather to employ and manage our own labour force. This way we can effectively implement and manage employee growth and development strategies. We maintain an ongoing internship programme that covers all aspects of the building industry. Our collaboration with West Coast College has enabled interns from Beaufort West, Colesberg, Caledon, Vredenburg, Saldanha and Springbok to get the necessary hands-on experience. We continue to support projects in and around Cape Town which delivers nutrition (soup kitchens), anti-drug and addiction rehabilitation programmes, and anti-prostitution and child abuse programmes.
Siyahamba Sonke Construction proactively fosters a safe working environment to enhance the wellbeing of its employees and the communities within its areas of operation. This stringent commitment to improving safety standards is demonstrated by our Lost Time Injury Free Rate (LTIFR).
We are keenly aware of the impact our operations and projects may have on the environment. We therefore implement programmes and policies to minimise adverse effects. We use construction methods and building materials that allow for a greener project construction process.
In order to achieve high levels of efficiency and service to our clients, Siyahamba Sonke Construction continually invests in plant, equipment and fleet ensuring it is always on the cutting edge of technology. All plant is regularly inspected and certified ensuring compliance with all safety and operating standards. The plant, equipment and fleet is utilised optimally and dedicated teams maintain all aspects of logistics operations to assure ongoing support.
